Rochester Public Schools Technology Referendum Meeting
Superintendent Kent Pekel will speak on the referendum that the Rochester School Board has voted to place on the ballot in November to generate funding to enhance technology upgrades, operations, and academic initiatives in Rochester Public Schools. Dr. Pekel is eager to meet with organizations and others across the Rochester community to provide citizens with accurate information on the levy referendum, which would provide the school district with $10,150,000 in additional funding for a ten year period. Passage of the levy would result in an increase of $135/annually ($11.25/monthly) in the taxes paid by the owner of an average-priced home in Rochester, which is currently identified as $325,000.
During the meeting, Dr. Pekel will share information on the purpose of the levy and the impact that the levy would have on the school district's educational and operational performance, as well as the financial impact the levy would have on Rochester homeowners and businesses. In addition to discussing the upcoming referendum, Dr. Pekel would also be glad to answer any questions and discuss any issues about other aspects of the school district's work that would be of interest to those who attend the gathering.
